What is Embodiment # 3: The World’s Doormat

embodiment 3

Whenever we have an issue with the things people say or do, that’s our sense of identity feeling threatened.

The ego is constantly defending its borders, forever swatting away the mosquitoes of other people’s offenses, dodging the slings and the arrows of judgment, intolerance, misunderstanding. A lifetime of vigilance and control.

The soul has no borders or checkpoints. It takes everything on. It cares so much, it can’t afford to care what anyone thinks.

An embodied soul is like the world’s doormat.

  1. Thought about posting this here for a While. But just got able today.

To let understanding stop at what cannot be understood is a high attainment. Those who cannot do it will be destroyed on the lathe of heaven.
Book XXIII, ¶ 7,as rendered in the epigraph to Ch. 3 of The Lathe of Heaven (1971) by Ursula K. Le Guin, based upon the 1891 translation by James Legge, Le Guin was subsequently informed that this was a very poor translation, as the lathe had not yet been invented in the time of Zhuangzi. The full passage as translated by Legge reads:

:He whose mind is thus grandly fixed emits a Heavenly light. In him who emits this heavenly light men see the (True) man. When a man has cultivated himself (up to this point), thenceforth he remains constant in himself. When he is thus constant in himself, (what is merely) the human element will leave him, but Heaven will help him. Those whom their human element has left we call the people of Heaven.

Those whom Heaven helps we call the Sons of Heaven. Those who would by learning attain to this seek for what they cannot learn. Those who would by effort attain to this, attempt what effort can never effect. Those who aim by reasoning to reach it reason where reasoning has no place. To know to stop where they cannot arrive by means of knowledge is the highest attainment. Those who cannot do this will be destroyed on the lathe of Heaven.”

I had a major synchronicity[s] around this … that’s why I posted it. .. .. It has to do with numerology and history, But it was personal to me. So I was hoping you ‘all mi9ght like it.. I especially like” those who would by learning attain to this seek for what they cannot learn” /

I’ve always been a “bhakti” One who believes “grace” rather than “works” is foremost.

  2. The soul is a doormat , there are many many faiths, enlightenment teachers ( not so many) writers and philosophers of the soul yet do we have our own metaphors or our we encouraged to create our own. A soul sometimes can feel like a battery, semi charged and the battery slowly has less charge each season. Equation being is that extend the souls lifetime to fix, heal the temporary illness , misjudgment or procrastination. Rejuvenation is kind of , could be a quick fix. So to set the mind and soul in synch or semi synchronisation is to lighten the blood.
    This can be difficult.
this is where friends come in or are these friends soul friends and this is what i am , we are, finding an un easy task.

And yet somebody in a routine, less sensitive can equal the other and join in to battle with the material aftercare….
